I don't know if it's just me who sees this, but lately I've been feeling like there have been a lot of natural and human-caused disasters and temperature changes, etc. The Oil Spill is causing all of that chaos because humans have decided that technology and "progress" are more important than protecting and coexisting with the earth. In Greensboro, a gas tank was unexpectantly hit by lightning and caught on fire a few weeks ago. Also, more generally, this year has seemed to be one of the most unforgiving weather-wise of my entire lifetime. A National Geographic Reporter discusses climate change and its effects much better than I could: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/12/091208-climate-change-decade.html
Maybe this is all hitting home for me because I just recently, and unwillingly, watched "The Road", a movie about the Apocalypse. It really scared me to think that something like that could actually happen to the earth- natural disasters were widespread, food was nonexistant, trees were falling down from lack of water in the soil, and the few humans left had turned to cannibalism. I don't suggest watching the movie if you get scared easily or are easily affected/ sensitive, like me. Even if you enjoy that kind of movie, I still don't suggest watching it because it was extremely depressing and the plot barely progressed from start to end.
Or I could be thinking about these environmental problems because I am suffering greatly from Poison Ivy. What surprises me the most is that I run in the woods all the time, and I have for at least four years now, and yet this is the first time I have ever gotten it. My conclusion from this is that it must be a really bad year for it and that Nature is truly increasing in its inhospitality towards humans. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions here but from what I've experienced this year in North Carolina (usually one of the most balanced climates in the US) with a frigid Winter and an extreme Spring and Summer, Global Climate Change is the only logical answer I can come up with. We all need to realize that ultimately things are going to have to change if we want to continue to live happily and peacefully in our world.

And isn't it great to find that you're really worth nothing
And how safe it is to feel safe."
